Good morning everyone,
Surprises! Some people like surprises and some people don't. At some point in your life, you probably have been surprised or if not, sometime in the future you probably will be! Surprises come in all shapes and sizes. You just found out you got a job promotion, a pay raise, lost your job, had a birthday party (the one that some don't like because it reminds them of how old they are), found out you are going to have a baby, been asked to marry someone, and the list goes on and on! The definition of a surprise according to Webster is, 'A taking unawares or an attack without warning.' To be completely surprised, you never saw it coming! 1 Thessalonians 5:4 says, 'But you aren't in the dark about these things, dear brothers and sisters, and you won't be surprised when the day of the Lord comes like a thief.' He has already warned us to be ready! Mark 13:32-33 says, 'However, no one knows the day or hour when these things will happen, not even the angels in heaven or the Son himself. Only the Father knows. And since you don't know when they will happen, stay alert and keep watch.' Encouragement for the day is to embrace surprises and be ready for things that really matter and when the Lord says, 'Well done good and faithful servant', pray that He is having that conversation with you!
Your brother in Christ,
p
