Dependent or Independent? 1 Corinthians 11:11-12

Good morning everyone,
As a nation, we just celebrated our 235th anniversary of freedom from oppression and from that comes our independence!  There is an interesting contrast between that independence and our dependence on our Lord and Savior!  Just like men and women who have died for you and I so that we could have the freedom that we enjoy, Jesus Christ died on the cross so that all could be free from their sins!  There may come a day when we as a nation will no longer enjoy the independence to have the freedoms that we have so much enjoyed over those years.  Regardless of who controls you while you are living and breathing, remember that no one can take away the gift that Jesus Christ gave you when He died on the cross.  He gave you a reason to be dependent on Him so that you could have eternal life with the Father!  A cross road of sorts for you to choose (independence) whom you will serve (dependence)?  Think of a yo yo and how the string recoils and releases as the wrist twists and turns.   Our Lord gives us a leash to explore and then a resting place when He pulls us back in to His bosom!  Never too far but far enough for us to encourage others to be dependent on the One who gave His life for them!  'Nevertheless, in the Lord woman is not independent of man nor man of woman; for as woman was made from man, so man is now born of woman.  And all things are from God.'
Your brother in Christ,
p
