Be joyful in hope! Romans 12:12

Good morning everyone,
Have you ever noticed that we get tied up in things that we have no business being tied up in?  Romans 12:12 tells us that we are to be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.  The moment we have any kind of drama in our lives, for the most part, we throw up our hands and become anything but joyful in hope.  We quickly lose sight of showing love in action!  See, this verse is really for showing others how Jesus can take us through the lowest valley and still beam as if we are on the highest peak.  It gives us a formula that we should first consider and that is to be faithful in prayer and to be patient through any affliction.  If we really believe that God is with us, then who can be against us (Romans 8:31)?  Jesus conquered death from a cross.  Can He not bring you through any and all trials that you face?  When in doubt, pray!  If you feel completely alone as if you are disconnected from Him, maybe He wants you to stop and listen to Him!  In the midst of chaos, we have a tendency to react instead of trusting that He is revealing something new to us!  If we are too busy being busy, we probably miss what He is trying to tell us!  When you are faced with sadness, impatience, doubt, or any other dilemma, remember to ask God to help you demonstrate the same patience that He has already demonstrated to you.  The more we trust Him, the more others will see that there is a different way to deal with issues than how they have handled problems in the past.  If we can be a 'shining light' in the midst of chaos, think about the number of people that it might affect.  Affect literally means to act upon.  When people see how your response to chaos is different than the norm, it just might be the 'hope' that directs them to the Kingdom!
Your brother in Christ,
p
