Having a servants attitude! Mark 10:42-45

Good morning everyone,
All through the New Testament Scriptures, we see Bible verses about being a servant.  One of the things that really stands out about Jesus to me is the fact that He said he came to serve and not be served.  Do you have that kind of servant hood attitude?  The model for us all to follow is Jesus and to me that is real!  He didn't come to earth in human form to live a life so that we could not follow His example.  On the contrary; He came to be our example so that we could have life more abundantly.  In Mark 10:42-45, Jesus called them to Him and said to them, "You know that those who are considered rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their great ones exercise authority over them.  But it shall not be so among you.  But whosoever would be great among you must be your servant, and whoever would be first among you must be slave of all.  For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many."  How many leaders do you know that are willing to be servants?  Or I should say if you want to be a leader, are you willing to be a servant?  The leaders that I know and respect are the ones who don't mind getting dirty and they have never lost touch from where they once came.  They still relate to issues and concerns for the people they serve.  Ironically a good leader serves because they care for people and not because they want to dictate with a bunch of demands.  Whether you want to believe this or not, we are all called to serve!  Whatever capacity you find yourself in, use Galatians 5:13 as your guide.  You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free.  But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love.  May God richly Bless you as you humbly serve the One who gave His life as the ultimate sacrifice for you!
Your brother in Christ,
p
