Have I got your attention yet? Hebrews 2:1; 2 Peter 1:19

Good morning everyone,
By typing in the word 'attention,' I found 80 different references in scripture (Bible Gateway) that identify the word 'attention.'  Most of the time when it comes to the Lord, we don't do a very good job of responding when He tries to get our attention.  Hebrews 2:1 says that we need to pay the most careful attention, therefore, to what we have heard, so we don't drift away.  He doesn't want us to drift!  The devil doesn't necessarily pounce on us all at once but more so in a casual, drifting at sea manor.  That way, he lulls us to sleep and then we become lost at sea!  A gradual sin is harder to identify than the need for correction of getting your hand caught in the 'cookie jar,' because it sneaks up on you. The deeper he can sink his hooks into you, the harder it is to get away from him!  If your Captain is the Holy Spirit, He will identify those gradual tendencies so that He reminds you to stay clear of those hooks!  2 Peter 1:19 says that we also have the prophetic message as something completely reliable, and you will do well to pay attention to it, as to a light shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts.  He is always present to steer you clear of the darkness toward the light as long as you give Him the attention that He desires!
Your brother in Christ,
p
