Reservations required! Psalm 86:5; Matthew 24:44; John 14:2

Good morning everyone,
When you go to a popular restaurant on a really busy night or you need to stay at a nice hotel around the holiday season, most likely you will need to make a reservation in advance.  There is nothing more frustrating than going to your favorite restaurant ready to eat your weight in food and then finding out it will be 2-3 hours before you can be seated!  Have you ever gone on a trip and winged it?  No set plans; just in your car going in the direction of your destination.  The down side is passing by hotel after hotel with the red neon sign lit up reading, 'no vacancies!'  Whether you try and go to your favorite restaurant or to the most accommodating hotel, let me encourage you to at least call in advance to save frustrations.  Jesus really asks the same of us.  To make sure we have a spot so we don't get there and read the sign, 'no vacancies,' He wants to know our travel plans so He can hold a room for us.  In order that we are ready (equipped; prepared), Psalm 86:5 tells us to call upon Him!  See, He is good, and ready to forgive, and abundant in lovingkindness.  Are you going to call Him in advance so that He can prepare a place for you, or are you going to just show up and then find out that He doesn't even know you?  Matthew 24:44 says, 'For this reason you also must be ready; for the Son of Man is coming at an hour when you do not think He will.'  John 14:2 tells us that In my Father's house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you.  While you still have life and breath, my prayer for each of you is to live for Him so that your permanent reservation is set!
Your brother in Christ,
p
